Mumbai: The Bombay High Court considers the bail application of Nikita Jacob. The transit anticipatory bail was granted for three weeks. In the case of connection 'toolkit', Jacob is a suspect registered by Delhi police which was shared by climate activist Greta Thunberg. The 'toolkit' matter is over the ongoing farmers' protest and because of which it had approached the Bombay HC.

Earlier Delhi court issued a non-bailable warrant against Jacob and another accused in the case. In this toolkit case, an environmental activist Disha Ravi was also arrested from Bengaluru last week. The relief is granted for three weeks for Rs 25000 bond. According to Delhi Police, the duo was allegedly involved in preparing the document and was in direct touch with "pro-Khalistani elements." On Monday, a plea of Jacob was presented before the Bombay High Court's single bench of Justice P.D. Naik. The plea sought transit anticipatory bail for a period of four weeks so that she can approach the court concerned in Delhi to apply for pre-arrest bail. Her lawyers Mihir Desai, Abhishek Yende and Sanjukta Dey had said the NBW issued by Delhi Police was on the "wrong pretext'' that she was absconding.

The advocate also said that she is unaware whether she is named as an accused or witness in the case. Her plea is she has an “untainted reputation’’. The plea further said, “learnt from social media that some entity by the name Legal Rights Observatory appears to have filed a false and baseless complaint with the Delhi police and seeks to pin the blame for violence on January 26, 2021, on the applicant as well.’’
