Amid the resurgence of COVID-19 cases in India in second wave has pulled back the overall growth of the Indian automobile industry. After the devastating financial year of 2020 yet another collision course arrived with second wave.

The auto world market suffers another lose as overall motorcycle sales went down in April 2021. Likewise, the two-wheeler, scooter sales also witnessed a steep decline. Honda’s Activa remained at the top of the list. The company sold 1,09,678 units in April 2021. While if we see the data of Month-on-Month growth there was a drastic fall as previously Honda has sold 199208 units of Activa scooters in March 2021. In case of second spot on the list, it was taken by the Suzuki Access 125 at 53285 units. Earlier, a month i.e. March 2021 Suzuki has sold 48672 units. TVS sold 25570 units of Jupiter scooters last month against 57206 scooter units sold in March. At the fourth and fifth spots sit TVS Ntorq and Hero Pleasure+, respectively.

After the Activa, Dio is the second most selling scooter by Honda in India. Dio takes the sixth spot at 17269 units sold in April 2021. At seventh, eighth, and ninth spots sit Hero Destini 125, Suzuki Burgman Street and TVS Scooty Pep+ scooters.

While, Yamaha only has one scooter on the list in the form of RayZR which stood at 7512 unit sales in April 2021.
