After Auli, the most popular tourist destination in Uttarakhand, now tourists are enjoying the picturesque Brahmatal trek. About three thousand domestic and foreign tourists have visited this Brahmatal trek in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district so far this season. Local youth are also overwhelmed by the increasing number of tourists. Tourists are also promoting self-employment by working as guides with about 200 young tourists from Vana, Mundoli, Kuling and Bank villages of Dewal development block. But so far this tourist place is far from the eyes of the tourism department.
It is also being said that the last bus station of Dewal region is 27 km long trek from Lohajung to Brahmatal. There is movement of tourists throughout the year. Two years ago, the High Court had banned the night stay at Auli's Bugyal. After which the tourists turned to the Brahmatal trek. In the year 2018, around 2500 tourists reached this trek. It is also being said that Surendra Singh, Vinod and Kapil, guides of Vana village and Virendra Singh, guides of Bank village, say that tourists are being provided with tents along with home stay in the area. Tourists are trembling a lot by trekking among the snow.
According to the information received, about two hundred youths of the region are associated with tourism self-employment. Here, DFO of Badrinath Forest Division Ashutosh Kumar says that the budget will be demanded from the district plan for maintenance of Brahmatal trek. Brahmatal trek is already a well-known trek. This is an ODI trek. Due to which there is no inconvenience to the tourists. In Ratgaon and Bursol, the benefit of the homestay scheme has been given to the people by the tourism department. The Brahmatal trek is also publicized from time to time.
