Chennai: Two persons were killed when a tractor loaded with hollow block stones overturned on the Chennai-Kolkata National Highway near Kavarappettai. They were coming towards Ponneri on the Chennai-Kolkata National Highway loading hollow block stones in a tractor from Poovalambedu area next to Matarapakkam in Tiruvallur district. The tractor overturned when it suddenly braked for a vehicle coming across the road in Kavarappettai area on the way.

Kumar (25) and Satish (26) from Thanipoondi who were driving the tractor were trapped under the tractor and crushed to death on the spot. Kavaraipettai police arrived at the scene, recovered the bodies and sent them to the Ponneri Government General Hospital for post-mortem examination.
