Guwahati: Movement restrictions have been imposed by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Guwahati from October 3 to 5. Traffic on National Highways 37 and 27 will remain closed from 8 am to 9 pm on October 3 and from 5 am to 12 pm on October 4. In view of the visit of Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Guwahati has imposed this restriction.

No small/medium/heavy commercial vehicles will ply on DG Road, MG Road, Taibullah Road, GNB Road, B Borua Road, GS Road and Punjabi Road from 6 am onwards. Also, all vehicles going from Bharalu to Chandmari will have to move from Yashwant Road to HB Road on Sunday and then from NCB Hall towards Chandmari on Sunday. Vice President of India M Venkaiah Naidu will reach Guwahati on Sunday.

He will inaugurate the Heritage-cum-Cultural Center at Old DC Bungalow (Kamrup-M) and an abdominal MRI at Guwahati Cancer Hospital. In the evening, he will present the popular Gopinath Bordoloi Award at Srimanta Sankardev International Auditorium in Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra. He will leave for Shillong on Monday morning.
