On Sunday and Monday, traffic restrictions were imposed around Hussain Sagar, keeping in mind the immersion of Durga Statues. Traffic is not allowed towards NTR Marg in Khairabad flyover and is diverted towards Nirankari. Vehicles coming from Iqbal Minar, Liberty and Telugu Mother Junctions are not allowed to NTR marg.
Traffic officials have suggested that alternative routes should be followed for smooth running. Traffic from Panjagutta - Somajiguda and Raj Bhavan roads will go to Secunderabad and Basheerbagh through The Nirankari, Old Saifabad PS, Iqbal Minar, Ambedkar Statue. The traffic from Iqbal Minar, Liberty and Telugu mother goes to Mehdipatnam or Khairatabad via Old Saifabad PS, Lakdikapul.
On the days of sinking, the normal traffic coming from Secunderabad to Tank Bund is diverted to the lower tank bund at Children's Park based on the movement of vehicles carrying Durga statues.
