Kochi: In a tragic incident, a 28-year-old man from the Aluva vicinity in Kochi took his own life after sharing an obituary for himself on Instagram. Ajmal Shereef was found hanging in a room at his residence around 6:30 PM on Friday, according to authorities.

With a following of over 14,000 on Instagram, Ajmal had posted an image of himself with the caption 'RIP Ajmal Shereef 1995-2023' before resorting to this tragic measure, as per the police statement. “Deeply Saddened to inform that Ajmal Shereef has passed away. May his Soul Rest in Peace,” the post read.

The family of the victim stated that Shereef was somewhat depressed due to his inability to secure a satisfactory job, according to the police statement quoted in a report in the Media Reports.Following the postmortem examination, the body was released to the deceased’s relatives.
