Tamil Nadu's 18-year-old table tennis player Vishwa Deendayalan lost his life in a road accident on Sunday while traveling from Guwahati to Shillong in a taxi. The Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI) has issued a statement informing about the unfortunate loss of life of this young player. He had traveled from Guwahati to Shillong along with his 3 other teammates to participate in the 83rd Senior National and Inter-State Table Tennis Championships that began today. Ramesh Santosh Kumar, Avinash Prasannaji Srinivasan and Kishore Kumar, who were traveling with Vishwa, also suffered serious injuries in the road accident. The doctors treating them have said the condition of all three is stable.

TTFI has said in its statement that, 'A 12-wheeled trailer coming from the opposite direction, after colliding with a road divider in Shangbangla, just after Umli check post, uncontrollably collided with the taxi and fell into the ditch. . The taxi driver lost his life on the spot, while Vishwa was taken to the North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences, where doctors declared him brought dead.'
