Train collided near Multan in Pakistan today, 6 killed and over 150 wounded

Lahore: Today, In a tragic incident, a Karachi-bound passenger train collided with a freight train near Multan in Pakistan's Punjab province in which at least six people have died and more than 150 injured.

Bucch railway station in Sher Shah area is the site of the incident.

According to police official Nadir Chattha, "the accident happened after a man was reportedly overrun by the freight train and the driver stopped the train to take out the body ".

Awam Express heading on the same line collided with the stationary goods train and the collisionwrecked the engine and power van, and overturned four bogies of the Awam Express, added Mr. Chattha.

The passenger train was on its way to Karachi from Peshawar.

An emergency has been imposed by the authorities at Multan's Nishtar Medical Hospital and Shahbaz Sharif Hospital to attend to those injured in the accident. A probe has been ordered by Pakistan Railways into the accident. Pakistan Railways has ordered an investigations into the accident.
