Srinagar: A major step has been taken by the local administration for the safety of Kashmiri Pandits amid the target killing in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Kashmiri Pandits posted in different areas of Srinagar have been transferred or accommodated in the district headquarters. A letter issued by the Srinagar-based Chief Education Officer has given information in this regard.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a high-level meeting on Friday. Apart from Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, NSA Doval, Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police Dilbag Singh, Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla, CRPF Director General Kuldeep Singh and Border Security Force chief Pankaj Singh were also present in the meeting. It is being told that this step has been taken by the government to give them a sense of security amidst the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus from the Valley. Earlier, a teacher Rajni Bala was killed by Islamic terrorists at a school in Kulgam district.

Hundreds of government employees had also taken out a march in Jammu city on Thursday demanding immediate transfer over the killing of Kashmiri Pandits. He urged the government to provide a safe environment. It also said that unless concrete action is taken in this regard, they will not work. Let us know that Kashmiri Pandits are constantly receiving threats from terrorist organizations. Islamic terror outfits have been continuously threatening Kashmiri Hindus that they should leave the Valley as soon as possible.
