New Delhi: After befriending a minor girl on social media and inviting her to meet her, a youth kidnapped her. The 22-year-old accused, Vijay alias Gangu, kept the victim locked in a room for two days and raped her. After the accused was released from the clutches, on the complaint of the victim, the Vasant Kunj South police station registered a case and arrested the accused.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Manoj C has informed that on April 28, a complaint was received at Vasant Kunj South Police Station. The complainant teenager accused a boy, Vijay, of raping and imprisoned in a room for two days. The investigation was started after registering a case at Vasant Kunj South police station. Raids were conducted at the suspected places of the accused. During this, the police came to know that the report of kidnapping of a minor girl is registered in Jaitpur. Investigation revealed that the accused is addicted to social media and had a habit of posting videos on Instagram. The police scrutinized her Instagram account, which led to information about her whereabouts and the police arrested Vijay alias Gangu and recovered the teenager.
During interrogation, it was found that Vijay and one of his brothers also do the business of selling illegal liquor. He never went to school and is illiterate. He had fallen into the wrong company. The accused likes to post videos on Instagram. Through this, he used to chat with girls and implicate them in his words. Makes them promise to get married. During this, he implicated the victim in his words. He called her to the Vasant Kunj area on the pretext of meeting her and then kidnapped her and took her hostage and raped her for two days.
