Bhelupur: Four persons, including a father and son, lost their lives tragically when a fire broke out due to a short circuit in a saree finishing factory at Ashfaq Nagar Colony under Bhelupur police station area of Varanasi. The locals showed promptness and brought the fire under control before the fire brigade reached, otherwise the accident could have been even bigger.
The process of the massive fire case that broke out at Annapurna Grandure Apartment in Sigra was going on in Sapatah Sigra when the news of an even bigger and more painful incident was heard today in the Kamchha area. CM Yogi Adityanath has also expressed grief over the incident. District Magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma, who rushed to the spot after receiving information about the accident, said that a man from Madanpura used to work as a saree finishing in the room of a house in Ashfaq Nagar. The fire broke out possibly while cooking around 12 noon on Thursday.
In the 12-foot × 10-foot room, sari, foam, and finishing material were kept which is said to be synthetic and from which the fire started spreading in the room. Four people could not leave the room in an attempt to stop the fire. On seeing this, the fire took a ferocious form and the four were trapped in the same room, which took their lives. Locals put water in the room located in the narrow lane and doused the fire and brought the gas cylinder out safely. The fire did not reach another house. There are many houses in the narrow lane facing each other. The four people in the room died before the fire was extinguished.
