Durg: In a shocking incident, four members of a family were stabbed to death with an axe in Chhattisgarh's Durg district after midnight on Wednesday. The deceased include the husband and wife and their two children. On receiving the news, a team of the police force, dog squad and FSL, including Durg SP Dr Abhishek Pallava, reached out. The incident took place in the Kumhari police station area.

Bholanath Yadav (34) lived on rent with his wife Naina Yadav (30) and two children Mukta (7) and Pramod (12) at Tandon Bari in Akola village near Murmunda. Bhola worked as a labourer in the field, while both his children studied in the school. On Thursday morning, the people of the village saw the bodies and informed the police. It is being said that the body of the wife was found in the house, while the husband's body was lying in the mud near the field and children. All of them have been attacked with sharp weapons such as axes on their heads. SP Dr Abhishek Pallava said that in the morning, the people of the village saw the bodies of the four. The family hailed from Sindhi art in Balangir, Odisha.

During the investigation so far, it has been found that Bholanath Yadav had four children. His two children lived with their grandparents, about 100 metres from there. Bholanath had taken about 7 acres of farmland on contract in the village. In this, he was farming and maintaining the family. It is suspected that the murder has been carried out due to rivalry. However, it has not been confirmed yet.
