Travel Agent Federation of India’s (TAFI) Chairman Mr. T.K Jose said that the first meeting of TAFI, MP region, is held on 08th September in Pune, at Hyatt Regency. The meeting was attended by all members of the chapter. The following national leaders of TAFI also attended the meeting as a special invitee: President – 1) Mr Ajay Prakash, 2 )Vice President-  Mr Kamal Jadhwani 3 ) Gen. Secretary – Mr Abbas Moiz,  4) Treasurer - Mr Hitank shah

On 8th September the following programme were arranged:- Presentation by Emirates Airlines on the latest product and current scenario of aviation field 1600hrs.

TAFI chapter meeting at 1930 hrs followed by cocktail dinner, Chairman Mr. T.K. Jose, chaired the meeting and Secretary Mr. Hariom presented the report. Treasurer Mr Mandeep gave vote of thanks. Mr. T.K. Jose advised all the members to unite together and support each other to tide over the current difficult situation. The members discussed all the relevant matter such as bank Guarantee, NDC  ticketing , Capping issues, etc and decided to request the national team to put up these matters with concerned Airlines, IATA BSP, Govt. authority etc.

Also organized a presentation on Cordelia Cruise and all the agents attended the programme.

They also requested the national team to discuss with low-cost airline to accept a combined bank guarantee instead of advance payment to enable the agents to issue the tickets without any hassles.

The other point discussed were the Union Finance minister announced a Loan guarantee scheme for Travel Agents who are registered with the Ministry of Tourism Govt of India, but only few approx 900 agents on PAN India basis are registered with the Ministry of Tourism. Govt .of India.  TAFI requested the ministry to extend the same eligibility criteria to all the IATA agents.

MP regional chapter also requested National office bearers to discuss with various banks to charge a uniform tariff structure on a PAN India basis against the charges levied by the banks for POS terminal, for all TAFI members.
