Manipur: Strong tremors have been felt in Ukhrul in Manipur on Monday. Its intensity was assessed as 4.4 on the Richter scale. This has been reported by the National Centre of Sysmology. The earthquake occurred 56 kilometers east-southeast of Usrul at 7.48 am. However, the good thing is that no news of loss of life or property has been reported so far. A few days ago, there was also a news of an earthquake from here.

According to reports, tremors were felt in Manipur earlier on Thursday as well. There was a 3.5 magnitude earthquake near Moirang in the morning. With a depth of up to 57 kilometers to the south-southeast. The National Centre of Sysmology said, 'An earthquake of magnitude 3.5 on the Richter scale occurred around 6 a.m.,' although no damage has been reported so far.

Why do earthquakes occur?: The reason behind an earthquake is the collision of plates inside the earth. There are seven plates inside our earth, which rotate continuously. When they collide, the fault line becomes a zone. This causes the corners of the surface to turn and pressure to form there. In such a situation, energy is generated after the plate breaks, which finds a way out. It is because of which the earth begins to move.
