A shocking incident of disrespecting the National flag come to light from Haryana’s Amabala. The police have registered a case of disrespect to the national flag on Friday. As per the information a torn tricolor was found at the office of Ambala Municipal Corporation, after which ASI Satish Kumar gave a complaint in this regard and a criminal case was registered on 25 February 2023.

After the complaint, a case was registered against an unknown person under Section 2 of the Prevention of Insult to National Honours Act, at Ambala City police station. The video is doing round on the internet.  In the viral video, it has been showed that there is a tricolor on the office of the Municipal Corporation, which is also dirty and torn. Satish found this tricolor an insult, so he demanded action on it.

During the Police investigation, it was revealed that the flag was hoisted at the municipal corporation office on Independence Day last year by the municipal officials and since then they have not changed it. The cloth of the flag was old and torn at the edges. Further investigation is going on in the case. Records have been requested. Police is finding who is responsible for is look at the tricolor. Once the accused is found, action will be taken against him.

 

ASI Satish said , “I was shown that the national flag hoisted on the building of Municipal Corporation, Ambala City is torn and dirty. It is seen in the news that the national flag is torn, which is disrespect", Ambala City police station house officer (SHO) inspector Ram Kumar speaking about the incident said, "The matter came to our notice from a news video published by a web channel. Upon verification, it was found that the national flag was torn and dirty, and a case was registered. It has been told to us that the flag was hoisted by MC officials on Independence Day on August 15, and it was not removed or changed since then. With time, the fabric of the flag got old and torn apart, which is a disrespect to the national honour. There is a code to hoist the national flag."
