Arunachal Pradesh government to distribute free masks for the school students returning to the school on November 16 has procured thousands of tri-colour face masks to inculcate nationalistic feelings among students. Thousands of school children in the state will sport tri-colour face masks once they turn up to the school for the first time after the COVID-19 lockdown, a report from Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) stated.

Arunachal Pradesh government purchase order states, "The state government has decided to open schools for class 10th and 12th from November 16. With this, the government has also approved the purchase of 60,000 khadi cotton face masks from  Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) for students". Due to the urgent need as it matters the students, the KVIC supplied the needed mask to the state government in just six days. The KVIC delivered the consignment by air to ensure timely delivery.

A statemnet from the MSME ministry has said that the aim of this exercise is to instill a sense of nationalism among students. KVIC has used Double Twisted Khadi fabric for the Tri-colour mask manufacture as it helps the mask to retain 70 per cent of the moisture inside and allows easy passage of air through it.
