Kolkata: West Bengal CM and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee can release the first list of candidates for the Bengal assembly elections today. There are likely to be 30 candidates in the first list. The West Bengal assembly elections are starting from March 27, where voting will be held in 30 seats of Junglemahal in the first phase.

4 districts of West Bengal Purulia, Bankura, West Midnapore, and Jhargram fall under Junglemahal. SC and ST voters have more number of these Naxalite affected districts. The most dominated Kurmi society in these areas. The interesting thing is that in Purulia, only the candidate whose title will be great can win the election. In such a situation, the surname of all the candidates in Purulia is Mahato. If we look at the figures according to statistics, the vote of tribal and Kurmi society in Junglemahal is more than 50 percent.

There are a total of 40 seats in the assembly, including 4 districts of Junglemahal. In the last assembly elections, TMC was seen here. But in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP performed well in these four districts and won all the seats. In such a situation, this time, Junglemahal poses a big challenge for Mamta and Mamta is busy trying to find the lost land.
