New Delhi: Triple Talaq cases have come to light in the national capital. Police have arrested a man from Azad Market for three divorces. The accused has been booked under the Muslim Women Act, 2019. Raima Yahia, 29, has lodged a complaint with the Bara Hindu Rao police station. In the complaint, Raima said that she had met Nikah Atir Shamim on November 24, 2011.

On June 23, Athir Shamim divorced his wife Raima Yahia and gave her a fatwa on WhatsApp. Two new cases of triple talaq have come to light in the last 24 hours from Bareilly district of UP. In the first case, Mohammed Rashid, a 26-year-old disabled man, divorced his 17-year-old wife Chand Bevi because she was illiterate and did not know how to cook. On Thursday, Chand Bwi was unable to give her husband Mohammed Rashid a morning breakfast, which led to Rashid's upset and allegedly beating his wife and giving her a 'Triple Talaq'.

The matter was immediately reported to the police, but Rashid remained adamant on his decision. The second incident is of Aksir Bano (26) and Mushtjab Khan of Shekhupura area. The two had a two-year-old son, who was born five years ago. At present, the accused are in the custody of the police.
