Jhansi: Despite the law against the Triple-talaq, the incidents are not showing any signs of decrease. Another incident of three talaq has come to light from UP. This is the first incident in Jhansi district. A woman, a Siddeshwar Nagar ITI resident of Sipri Bazar, has alleged that her husband gave triple talaq for not meeting the demand of 15 lakh rupees in dowry.
On the complaint, the police have registered a report against the husband and two witnesses. The victim, Amarin, filed a report that she was married to Mohammad Arif Khan, a resident of Kadam Saheb in Kotwali Lashkar-e-Toiba, Gwalior, on November 16, 2011. In dowry, the father gave the donation according to his ability. After the marriage, everything went well, but suddenly the in-laws started demanding fifteen lakh rupees in dowry. It is alleged that she was beaten up and locked in a room on the third floor when the demand was not met.
She was also kept thirsty. They had also withdrawn about four lakh rupees from the account by signing the cheque forcibly. Meanwhile, on October 23, 2013, she gave birth to a daughter. After that, she felt that everything would be better, but the demand for fifteen lakh rupees continued. Afterward, she was sent to the motherhouse, and she has not yet been called. There were times when there were attempts to reach a reconciliation agreement, which proved to be a failure.
