Tripura: Police recovers 600 kg of dry ganja from Churaibari

Agartala: Tripura police detained two goods-laden Trucks on Tuesday in Churaibari, in Tripura's North District, and recovered 600 kg of dried ganja. According to police, both trucks number was registered from Bihar.

"Both Lorries were seized with a total of 87 packages loaded with dry ganja." The Lorries were stopped and seized by the local police while conducting routine Naka checks at Churaibari. "The seized Ganja is estimated to be worth around Rs 1.5 crore," a police officer said.

Accused driver Manzoor Ahamed Chahchi was caught red-handed with the crime, according to the officer. According to preliminary investigations, Chachi comes from the Kashmir district of Baramulla, and the Ganja shipment was intended to be dropped off in Bihar.

Two cases have been filed in this regard and are being investigated further. A similar recovery was accomplished on Sunday from the same places. During this time, the police seized 2,360 kg of marijuana from a vehicle.
