Tripura: Resigning BJP MLAs joins the Congress ahead of the election

Recently Two  BJP MLAs from Tripura who quit the saffron party and joined the Congress. In the presence of former AICC head Rahul Gandhi and AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi, ex-MLAs Sudip Roy Barman and Asish Kumar Saha formally joined the Congress party in New Delhi.

At the joining ceremony, a delegation of Tripura Congress leaders led by TPCC President Birakti Sinha was also present. Sudip Roy Barman and Asish Kumar Saha were seen with AICC senior brass in photos and videos that went viral through many verified Twitter accounts of AICC leaders.

Although it seemed very certain that the two would join the Congress party, no particular information was released. They are expected to return to Tripura on February 12th and make formal announcements about their future course of action inside the Congress party. Both MLAs indicated that numerous other TMC, CPIM, and BJP leaders are keen to return to the great old party.
