According to the party source, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leaders are murmuring that Telangana Chief Minister and TRS Chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao may not switch to Centre as was expected earlier. The TRS Chief is apparently not enthusiastic on contesting for Lok Sabha and wants to stay in the state for some more time.

While it was expected that his concept of Federal Front would take off subsequent to meeting a few local leaders, the Front's idea seems to be almost shelved as all the leaders that KCR had approached are now the party of the Mahaghatbandhan. As per the past arrangement, KCR should challenge for Lok Sabha and seek a Cabinet berth in the Modi government while his son and TRS working president K.T. Rama Rao would be given the reins of the state as its Chief Minister.

In a recent meeting with TRS' senior leaders, KCR said that he won’t challenge for Lok Sabha from Medak or Nalgonda as planned. Yet, he has decided to field sitting MP of Medak, Kotha Prabhakar Reddy again and from Nalgonda, TRS leadership will handle Vemireddy Narasimha Reddy, a real estate broker. In 2014, KCR had contested from Medak for Lok Sabha but resigned later and gave it to Kotha Prabhakar Reddy. In 2009, he challenged for Lok Sabha from Mahbubnagar Parliamentary constituency while in 2004 he chose Karimnagar for his Lok Sabha candidature.

As indicated by TRS party sources, KCR's national role will be dependent on the Lok Sabha results. "On the off chance that BJP gets a comfortable majority, then the Chief Minister will remain here and continue. If NDA falls short of a majority at the Centre and seeks help from the TRS, then KCR's entry could be imminent.”
