Hyderabad: An MLA from Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS), the ruling party of Telangana, has said that state minister K.T. Rama Rao (Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao) can become CM by March next year. This prediction was made by Telangana Assembly member and former Minister D. Redya Naik.
MLA Naik, who arrived at a function in his constituency Dornakal, said that Rama Rao is the future chief minister. KTR is the son of Telangana CM K Chandrashekhar Rao and is currently entrusted with the ministries of industry, information technology, municipal administration and urban development. KTR is extremely popular among his followers and is also the executive chairman of the ruling party. He is considered number two both in the party and in the government.
There have been speculations that CM KCR will hand over his post to him. However, KTR has dismissed the news saying that CM is healthy and fit. Last year, it was a discussion that after KCR made son the executive chairman of the party, he would now give him the CM post. KCR will focus on national politics, but the KTR remained in the state after the BJP returned to power with a ragged majority.
