NEW DELHI: U.S. President Donald Trump is often a target because of his protectionist policies. President Trump had announced to stick to America's earlier policy when he assumed power in the US. Trump's targets have been particularly developing countries like India and China. President Trump has been aggressive against these countries from the very beginning. In a fresh attack, Trump said he would not allow these countries to take advantage of the status they are getting from the WTO.

US President Trump had asked the WTO on what basis he gives the status of a developing country to a developing country. Trump's motive behind this is to separate China, Turkey and India from the system that are benefiting under global trade rules. "They (India and China) have been benefiting us for years," Trump said. He also expressed the hope that the WTO will treat the US impartially.

The U.S. President has asked his country's business representatives to take punitive action against a developed economy if they take advantage of the WTO's flaws. Addressing a gathering on Tuesday, Trump said, "Asia's two largest economies, India and China, are no longer developing countries and cannot benefit from the WTO." US President Donald Trump has attacked these countries, saying South Asian countries are at the forefront of tariffs. The US-China trade war shows President Trump's view.
