Trump Commits To Leave White House After Biden's Winning Gets Formalized

WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump still doesn't admit his defeat in an election that he has lost by most accounts. He again changing his statement said on Thursday that 'he will nevertheless leave the White House if the Electoral College formalizes Democrat Joe Biden's victory.'

Trump in his first explicit commitment said that 'certainly he will and all of you know that' about vacating office, later then he added if the process didn't go his way, “It’s going to be a very hard thing to concede because we know that there was massive fraud.” He was also asked if he would attend Biden’s inauguration on January 20, where he said “I know the answer,” but declined to elaborate. Trump has had a hostile relationship with the mainstream White House press corps that is openly skeptical of his claims. Trump carried his anger over to social media hours after Thursday's meeting, calling for a closure "for purposes of National Security" of Section 230. Donald raged, as critics humiliated him with memes and skits mocking him. Trump then after the loss in the election has not appeared to be particularly engaged outside of Twitter. He had said he didn't want to talk about running in 2024 yet since in his eyes the 2020 race was not yet over.

He appeared resentful that the vaccine to protect against Covid-19 had arrived after the elections, saying infelicitously, "The vaccines and by the way, don’t let Joe Biden take credit for the vaccine. .?.?. Don’t let him take credit for the vaccines, because the vaccines were me," on Thursday. The US Congress will gather on January 6, 2021, to formally certify the Electoral College results and declare the winner of the White House.
