Trump lands in Helsinki for face to face talks with Putin

Helsinki [Finland], Jul 16 (NT): President Trump arrived in Helsinki, Finland for much anticipated summit with Russian President Putin on late Sunday.

 Worth mention here the two glob leaders are lined up to meet later on Monday.

United President Donald Trump is on a seven-day, three-nation European tour .He flew from Scotland, where he and his wife, Melania, spent the weekend at his golf resort.

It is noted that Finland has a long legacy of hosting U.S.-Russian talks because of its perceived impartiality and geographic location, as per a number of media reports.

On a related note The Trump-Putin talk is expected to take place for several hours. The two presidents will address a joint press meet after summit, as per the reports of the Russian Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov. These talks will be held for the third time.

Trump and Putin  first met during the G20 summit in Germany's Hamburg in July last year and again met for the second time in Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Vietnam in November last year.

Earlier in March this year, the two leaders talked on a telephone, where President Trump had invited Russian president to visit Washington D.C.

Mean while Trump hailed Putin ‘s efforts for the success of FIFA 2018, “Congratulations to France, who played extraordinary soccer, on winning the 2018 World Cup. Additionally, congratulations to President Putin and Russia for putting on a truly great World Cup Tournament -- one of the best ever!”, Trump tweeted.
