A tweet by Donald Trump on Tuesday states that he is "looking forward " to the second presidential debate even as he continues treatment this week for Covid-19. "I am looking forward to the debate on the evening of Thursday, October 15th in Miami," Trump said. "It will be great!". Trump announced his plans to participate in less than 24 hours after he was discharged from the hospital for treatment of Covid-19. Whereas according to the CDC's timeline the president could still pose a public health risk at the Oct. 15 debate.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines state that people should isolate for 10 days from the point of showing systems, and in severe cases, 20 days. The president's medical team is continuing to scrutinize his viral load for insight as to when he may no longer be infectious. Trump had just returned to the White House after a three-night stay at Walter Reed, where he got treated for the coronavirus with help of lots of drugs. Hours before he was discharged from the hospital where he encouraged Americans not to be afraid of the deadly virus and said he felt "better than I did 20 years ago."

The second debate will move forward as planned, both Trump and Biden will answer questions from voters in Miami. The political editor of C-SPAN is the moderator for the second debate. It will be held in a town hall format. After this, a third presidential debate is scheduled for Oct. 22 at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. White House correspondent Kristen Welker will moderate that debate.
