Everyone wants killer abs. And everyone wants to lay on the couch all day. What if you could have both? Well, you can't. But there are some great ab exercises you can do without leaving your sofa.
Couch Push-ups
Facing a couch, kneel on the floor about 2 feet away from it. Cross your ankles, and place your hands shoulder-width apart on a cushion edge. Slowly bend your arms, and lower your upper body until your chest touches the couch. Hold, then press up again. Finish off by doing jumping jacks.
Sit-Stand
Go from sitting to standing to sitting again, 10 times in a row. Rest for a minute and then repeat again.
Leg-up Couch Crunches
Lie on your back on a couch with your knees bent, your feet up on one end, and your hands behind your head. Pressing your lower back into the couch, slowly lift your head, shoulders, and upper back off the couch. Hold, then slowly lower.
Couch Scissors
Lie flat on your back on the couch with your legs straight up in the air and your hands, palms down and planted firmly under your butt. With your knees slightly bent, spread your legs as far apart as you can go, and then bring them slowly back together again and repeat. This will give your inner and your outer thigh muscles a good workout.
Calf Stretch
Sit on the edge of a couch with your feet flat on the floor. With one leg, keeping your heel on the floor, lift and point the toes toward the ceiling, so that you feel a stretch in your calf muscle. Hold for 30 seconds, then do the same with the other leg, three times per leg.
