Chilly winters desire for a delicious and piping hot cup of soup. If there’s any food that epitomizes winter, it’s soup. Soups not only satisfy your hunger pangs but keep your tummy full for a long time. Winter is here so relish different varieties of soups, be it tomato, carrot, and even chicken. After a long workday or cold weather, there’s nothing that quite compares to a warm bowl of soup. 1. Tomato Soup

Sip in the tangy and thick soup. Recipe for tomato soup: just melt one tbsp butter in a pan. Add ½ cup chopped onions and then 2 tbsp garlic. Sauté it and add 5-6 chopped tomatoes, along with salt. Cover the pan and cook for 8-10 minutes. Add ½ cup water and let it boil once. Use a hand blender to make a smooth tomato puree. Transfer to a bowl, garnish with cream, and enjoy.

2. ​Cream of Mushroom Soup

Another tasty creamy and tempting is a creamy mushroom soup. For this, you need 250 gms of mushroom, which is chopped. Heat 1 tbsp butter in a pan. Add 1 tbsp diced garlic and 1 medium-sized chopped onion. Let them sauté till mushrooms turn light brown. Now add a tbsp of maida and stir well. Add salt and pepper, along with a cup of water. Now add a cup of milk, mix well and let it boil on medium flame. Turn off the flame as it starts getting thick and transfers to a bowl. Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves and enjoy.

3. ​Carrot and Ginger Soup

Winter is the season for carrots and the benefits of ginger are not unknown to us. For this soup, you will require around 3-4 carrots, 1 small onion, 2 tbsp chopped or grated ginger. Sauté all the veggies for a few minutes. Add a cup of water and cook on medium flame. Cook till the veggies are soft. As soon as it cools down a bit and blender in a mixer. You can also use a hand blender for this purpose. Take out the puree in a pan, add a cup of water and let it boil once. Add salt and pepper according to taste. Enjoy your thick and tasty carrot soup.
