Trying to create awareness among students by displaying weapons in open house: DIG

Kurnool: Under the Police Commemoration Week, an open house was organized at the District Police Parade Ground on Tuesday. Under which arms and ammunition were displayed. Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) P Venkatrami Reddy inaugurated the open house. Speaking on the occasion, Venkatrami Reddy said that the purpose of displaying arms and ammunition is to create awareness among the students about the different categories of weapons used by the police while discharging their duties.

SP CH Sudhir Kumar Reddy was also present on this occasion, he said that, Police Commemoration Week celebrations start from 21st October every year. During this, the sacrifice of police martyrs is remembered. The open house showcases a variety of weapons including the latest weapons used by the police. The open house will also encourage the students to join the departments to serve the society and the nation. Sudhir Kumar Reddy said that Armed Reserve (AR) DSP Ilyaz Basha has created awareness about weapons among the students. It has said that as part of the ammunition display, the demonstration will be held for two days (Tuesday and Wednesday).

Students from various schools and colleges visited the open house and got a glimpse of the weapons. Similarly, the personnel of Adoni traffic police station have also made the students aware of traffic rules. Assistant Sub-Inspector Rajoli Laxman said that under the Police Commemoration Week, an awareness program was organized in the police station premises. The students were told about the signals and traffic rules to be followed.
