The last two years have been nothing short of a roller coaster for Baapjanma actress Sharvari Lohokare. In terms of employment, she did, however, close 2021 on a high note. Sharvari received praise for her performance in Rohit Shetty's Sooryavanshi, in which she played the wife of a cop.

"I had originally auditioned for another character in the film, but I got this one," she tells us. My first scene with Akshay Kumar was a little nerve-wracking, but everyone on set was really supportive, which made things a lot easier." The moment where Sharvari breaks down in the hospital and the one where she is seen with Katrina Kaif at her late husband's burial are two that stick with you from the movie. The actress, on the other hand, claims that the scene that everyone liked and spoke about was not her favourite. "Everyone, including Rohit Shetty, Akshay Sir, and Katrina, enjoyed one of the sequences while filming." However, when I was watching the movie, I thought to myself, "I thought I knew what I was doing."

The actress is now working on the Marathi serial Tumchi Mulgi Kay Karte? and is set to star in two more Hindi films in 2022. "Avinash Arun, whose Marathi film Killa received a National Award, directed one of the films. "I was lucky to have parts with all of them," Sharvari adds of the film, which stars Shefali Shah, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Swanand Kirkire. "Well, I don't make goals, and I'm not the 'Live life every day' sort of person," she says when asked what else she'll be focused on in 2022. But this year, I've resolved to improve my fitness, which I had neglected for a long time."

While Sharvari is happy that work is now routinely coming her way, she believes that the advent of OTT platforms has transformed people's perceptions about regional performers. "At the same time, regional actors' attitudes regarding employment have shifted. Today, everyone conducts research, moulds themselves, and maintains a professional demeanour. Take, for example, Marathi actors, who have always been favoured in projects due to our ability. But, before that, there was another reason why people would employ Marathi actors: they were less expensive. However, this is beginning to change. Actors know what task to take on and how much money they should be paid for their profession," she says.
