Tsunami hits Indonesia,At least 43 dead, 600 injured

A tsunami  killed at least 43 people after the waves hit the coast around Indonesia’s Sunda Strait. This Tsunami apparently caused by the eruption of an island volcano.

As per the reports, The waves hit beaches in South Sumatra and the western tip of Java about 9.30 pm local time  on Saturday Damaging many buildings.

Informing about the reason of Tsunami , Scientists from Indonesia’s Meteorology and Geophysics agency said it could have been caused by undersea landslides from the eruption of Anak Krakatau, a volcanic island formed over years from the nearby Krakatau volcano. They also cited tidal waves caused by the full moon.

Disaster Management Agency informed that Some 600 people have been reported injured when the tsunami hit about 9:27 pm on Saturday.

Anak Krakatoa is a small volcanic island that emerged from the ocean half a century after Krakatoa's deadly 1883 eruption. It is one of 127 active volcanoes which run the length of the archipelago.

Indonesia,regularly experiences deadly earthquakes. Recently, in the city of Palu on Sulawesi island where a quake and tsunami killed thousands of people.
