TTP claims responsibility for Peshawar suicide blast

Peshawar [Pakistan], July 11 (NT):  According to ANI reports The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed responsibility for the deadly suicide attack in Peshawar.

This suicide bomber attack claimed 14 lives.

As per the Pakistani news reporters, a shared tweet which read, "The beginning of revenge," that was stated by TTP (Pakistani Taliban) presenter Mohammad Khurasani.

On the other hand Iftikar Firdous, Bureau Head for The Express Tribune, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa wrote on Twitter, "The TTP's spokesperson calls the suicide attack a 'revenge for the previous government of ANP' while claiming credit for the attack. Identifies the suicide bomber as Mujahid Abdul Karim. #Peshawar"

The bombing attacked an  election rally of the Awami National Party (ANP), killing Haroon Bilour, a head of the party.

On a related note Bilour was the ANP's candidate for a provincial seat (PK-78) in the general elections which will be slated on July 25.

Worth mention here The ANP was the main target of Taliban attacks in the 2013  Pakistan general elections. (NT)
