Turkish sharpshooter Yusuf Dikec has sparked an intriguing discussion about robots by reaching out to tech mogul Elon Musk on social media.

Dikec, who won a silver medal in the mixed team 10m air pistol event at the Paris 2024 Olympics, has invited Musk to Istanbul to delve deeper into the topic of robots in sports. Known for his unique shooting style with his hands in his pockets, Dikec posed a thought-provoking question: Could humanoid robots achieve similar success and win medals with their hands in their pockets?

On the social media platform X, Dikec wrote: “Hi Elon, do you think future robots could win medals at the Olympics while keeping their hands in their pockets? Let’s discuss this in Istanbul, a city that bridges continents.”

In response, Musk commented, “Robots will hit the center of the bullseye every time.”

Musk had recently revealed that Tesla plans to start producing humanoid robots next year. “Tesla will introduce truly useful humanoid robots for internal use in limited quantities next year, with a goal to scale up production for other companies by 2026,” he stated.

During the Olympics in Chateauroux, most competitors were seen wearing visors to shield their eyes from the bright lights. However, Dikec opted for a simpler setup, using just his glasses and a yellow earpiece to minimize external noise.

Born in 1973 in Turkey, Yusuf Dikec developed a passion for shooting at a young age. He began competing internationally and made his Olympic debut in 2008. Over the years, Dikec has refined his skills and developed a distinctive approach, drawing global attention and acclaim.
