CBI team takes charge of Tuticorin case on request of Tamil Nadu government

Earlier, many questions are arising over the death of businessman father-son allegedly in torture given in police custody. Many celebs have also expressed their opinion in this. This incident is from Sathankulam in Tamil Nadu. Where the business father and son died in police custody due to torture given by the police. Now CBI has taken full responsibility for its investigation. The same special team of CBI officials arrived here on Friday.

The CBI has handled this inquiry from the CB-CID at the request of the Tamil Nadu government. The CBI team led by Additional SP Vijay Kumar Shukla reached the CB-CID office here and obtained the case file from DSP Anil Kumar. Police sources said that the CBI officials are likely to start the investigation by visiting Sathankulam police station, Kovilpatti sub-jail, and Kovilpatti government hospital. So far 10 policemen have been arrested in this case.

Businessman father-son P. Jayaraj and Benix died on June 22 and 23 respectively after allegedly being tortured at the Sanathkulam police station. He was arrested on June 19 for violating lockdown rules for opening a mobile phone shop for more than the prescribed time. So far, the CB-CID was investigating the case on the order of the Madurai bench of the Madras High Court. No decision has been taken on this clearly.
