Tvara Mehta is an actor, theatre producer and runs a successful Instagram page as a digital creator. She owns a clothing label ‘Sheroes’ which works towards women empowerment & sustainability.

This April,  ‘Sheroes’ will be five years old- which is not only a clothing label but also a community. Tvara says, “I have always been vocal about the issues faced by women- whenever you start talking about women empowerment, they ask you to go help rural women, and surely that’s necessary and we all do our bit, but urban women too need to be empowered. We have stats to prove how even the women working in the most modern setups are also not getting the same opportunities as men. With an aim to throw light on this, I created a photostory ‘Sheroes Redemption’ and released it on my socials. Women could connect to it and that inspired me to launch my clothing label Sheroes.”

Sheroes has been a small business that she has been fondly growing since last five years. She has launched a collection for young girls called ‘Little Sheroes’, as she feel girls should build an awareness since a young age - they should feel they can do whatever they want and dream big.

Tvara says, “I have also acted in and produced theatre plays and am the protagonist in recently webseries ‘Anti 2020’. The story revolves around a female protagonist and the issues women face when it comes to their dating lives. So you might have got the drift - I try to do my creative work in a way where I can highlight the social issues.”

Tvara had launched her online photostory with a pink theme party and her clothing label with an open for all styling event. Women turned up in huge numbers and subsequently they had a community. She continues to host different events & workshops. Tvara says,  “Women today have put in same hard work, money, time and energy to get the same education men have. They also have similar dreams and ambitions. We really need a societal change where we encourage women to follow their passion and dreams and not pass snide remarks at their singlehood or any other personal choice they have made. Also, lets celebrate them and give them the credit they deserve for their achievements wherever its due.”
