Twitter India's public policy director Mahima Kaul has resigned from her post. He has resigned for personal reasons. Mahima Kaul joined the micro-blogging site Twitter in the year 2015. According to the news received, Mahima resigned from her post in early January. Currently, she will be associated with Twitter till the end of March. According to sources, Mahima is taking a break of some time from work.

The news of Mahima Kaul's resignation has come amidst the constant questioning of social media. Over the years, Twitter had to answer many questions on issues like hate speech. Recently, the Government of India took to Twitter to target the farmers' movement for not removing the fake and inflammatory tweets.

The government has warned of strict action against not blocking about 250 accounts of tweeting from Twitter. There has been a deadlock over deleting tweets or blocking accounts. The government has hinted that it may become more stringent in the coming times with fake and inflammatory tweets.
