Twitter, the world's microblogging site, has made a sensational disclosure that it uses data for Ad without users' consent. In its official blog post, the company apologized to users for using the user's data for a year without permission. The company also stated in its blog post that this bug has been fixed at present. 

In a statement, Twitter said that anyone who viewed the advertisement through the mobile app in May 2018 has been affected by this glitch. The data that Twitter has talked about includes mobile numbers with the user's personal contact details, such as country codes. This user's data is used for advertising. It also includes information on which device any adv was opened.

Recently, the TrueCaller app also found a bug in which TrueCaller's UPI account was created without users' consent. However, TrueCaller apologized and de-registered users' accounts. After May 2018, the country code and add information of all users who viewed the add through the mobile app have been leaked. This information reached the advantage of a partner without the user's permission. Twitter further said that if anyone wants to know whether they have been affected, we are currently investigating and collecting information we will share with our users.
