New Delhi: The confrontation between the Government of India and social media platform Twitter is not going to end. Twitter is reluctant to comply with the new IT rules, as well as some mistakes on Twitter in the past few days. Amidst all this, the Parliamentary Committee on IT Affairs had asked Twitter some questions, which Twitter have to answer by Thursday.
The Twitter had locked union IT minister Ravi Shankar Prasad's handle for some time in the past, before it happened to Congress MP Shashi Tharoor. Shashi Tharoor is the chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on IT affairs. The committee had sought a response from the Twitter on the issue within 48 hours, which expires today i.e. Thursday. Twitter Apart from the Parliamentary Committee, the National Commission for Women (NCW) has also taken a strong stand on Twitter. NCW has sought a response from Twitter on the pornographic content and asked it to delete such content. The Women's Commission has given Twitter just a week's time for it.
Let us tell you that recently a FIR was also registered on Twitter about obscene content which took place in Delhi. Here was a case on Twitter about child abuse and action was sought. Twitter also responded to delhi police saying they had zero tolerance policy in the case of child abuse.
