USA: Elon Musk has announced that Twitter will start compensating creators for advertising revenue. Although there is a catch. Only creators who have Twitter Blue verified subscriptions will receive a share of revenue from reply-thread ads.

According to Musk's announcement, the program will launch today, but not much is known about how the revenue-sharing will work.

Social media platforms like YouTube, TikTok and Instagram, with dedicated systems for paying creators through ad splits or money, will be unable to compete with Twitter's revenue-sharing program with creators.

For some time now, Musk has talked about revenue-sharing with creators and with them. Even though the program has already started, one can anticipate more information than just one tweet.

Creators operating Legacy Blue verified accounts will not receive any advertising revenue from Twitter. They are not eligible for the new advertising revenue sharing program on the platform.

The platform may also remove historical verified checkmarks from accounts without warning soon. If you have a Legacy Blue verified check in order to participate in the revenue-sharing program, you'll need to sign up for Twitter Blue.

A Twitter Blue subscription costs a different amount depending on where you live. The plan costs $8 per month (Rs 999 in India) if purchased through Twitter's website, while it costs $11 if purchased from the App Store or Google Play. Twitter also offers users an $84 annual subscription.
