New Delhi: Microblogging site Twitter has said that its policy on child sexual abuse (CSE) is zero tolerance. We will continue to actively detect and remove content that violates Twitter's rules and work closely with law agencies and NGO in India to deal with the issue, a Twitter spokesperson said.

In fact, Twitter's statement comes at a time when Delhi Police has issued a notice seeking information on the steps taken against the dissemination of pornographic material related to children on its platform. A senior police official said notice issued to Twitter on Tuesday. The official said police have asked the concerned officials of the Twitter to provide information on the steps taken against the materials related to sexual abuse of children on their platform and accounts circulating such content.
The Delhi Police had registered a FIR on a complaint by the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) in this regard, accusing it of allowing access to child pornography on its stage. Police said a case has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) and the Information Technology Act.
