Bareilly, In an incident two children today drowned in a pond in Aliganj area. The deceased were identified as Amit 12 year old and Harshit 10 year old. The incident took place this morning when Amit 12 and Harshit 10 went to take a bath in the pond and slipped into deep water, police said.

Later, their bodies were fished out by locals.

Pools, lakes, ponds, and beaches mean summer fun and cool relief from hot weather. But water also can be dangerous for kids if parents don't take the proper precautions. 

Nearly 1,000 kids die each year by drowning, a report said.
