Korba: Two youths have lost their lives and two others have become ill in the wake of poisonous gas in Surajpur district of Chhattisgarh. Surajpur District SP GS Jaiswal has reported on Tuesday that two youths Ganpat Singh (35 years) and Ramnarayan Singh (33 years) have died while trying to evacuate the fallen cattle in the well in Patrapali village under Karanji Police station area of the district.

He has said that two other youths Kariman Singh (32 years) and Mathura (30 years) have become sick. Jaiswal said that Lal Singh's cattle living in Patrakali village late on Sunday had fallen into the old well of Arjun Singh, who lived in the neighbourhood. On receipt of information, the cattle owners and villagers rushed to the well and started trying to evacuate the cattle. Ganpat Singh took the rope and landed in the well. Shortly after he was hit by the poisonous gas, he gave a voice. Hearing the gunshots, Ramnarayan Singh also landed in the well. But it was also taken by poisonous gas in its own JD.

After a while, Kariman Singh and Mathura landed in the well to assist the two and he also fainted. Superintendent of Police, Jaiswal said that after the incident was reported, the district administration and police officials immediately rushed to the spot and an attempt was launched to evacuate the victims.
