Srinagar: Security forces have achieved a major breakthrough in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian. Terrorists linked to banned terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba have been gunned down in an encounter that took place here late on Tuesday night. Police said, one of the slain terrorists has been identified as Jan Mohammad Lone. The terrorist, Mohammad Lone, is a resident of Shopian. Its name was involved in the murder of a bank manager in Loan Kulgam district. Police have recovered incriminating material, arms and ammunition from the spot.

Let us know that, in view of the increasing cases of target killing of Hindus in Kashmir, a petition has also been filed in the top court. The petition asked CJI NV Ramanna to take cognizance of the deaths of Hindus in Kashmir. Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday gunned down two militants in an encounter in Kanjiular area of Shopian. In a tweet, the Kashmir Zone Police said that the terrorists were associated with the banned terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (Let).

The encounter operation was carried out jointly by the Jammu and Kashmir Police and security forces. Police have recovered incriminating material, arms and ammunition, including an AK-47 rifle and a pistol, from the spot.
