On March 16 at around 11 pm, two men fought over actress Ragini Dwivedi at a five-star hotel in Bengaluru. A complaint was filed in the Ashok Nagar police station by transport superintendent BK Ravishankar against Ragini's rumored boyfriend, real estate businessman Shivaprakash. BK Ravishankar claimed that Shivaprakash had assaulted and injured him.

Bengaluru central division DCP D Devaraj said that an FIR has been registered at the Ashok Nagar police station and the issue is being investigated. The complaint has been booked under IPC sections 506 (life-threatening), 504 (assault). While Ravishankar was having dinner with Ragini and other friends at the hotel, Shivaprakash is said to have barged in around 11.45 PM and started fighting with Ravishankar. Shivaprakash reportedly questioned Ravishankar on his acquaintance with Ragini.

Ravishankar said he and Ragini had been for dinner along with friends. Shivaprakash came to him around 11.45 PM and started fighting. He asked him, why he has come with Ragini, and started abusing him. Shivaprakash punched him on the face and hit him with a beer bottle. He also threatened to take his life." Shivaprakash should be booked legally and action should be taken against him," he added.

According to sources Shivaprakash had a problem with Ragini getting close to Ravishankar. As Shivaprakash said, "Recently, Ravishankar had come in between him and Ragini. He was friends with Ragini from past 10 years. He has gifted her many valuable things including a car. But Ragini started neglecting him after she became close to Ravishankar." Shivaprakash was to be Ragini's rumored boyfriend and both were seen together partying on a number of occasions.
