ITANAGAR: On Wednesday, Arunachal Pradesh was pounded by heavy rains that led to flooding and landslides that disrupted connectivity and affected lives, officials said.
It was reported that two more people died in landslides the previous day, and that a search was being conducted for two more people who went missing. On Tuesday, a worker at the Hollongi water treatment plant was buried alive in a sizable landslide. Late that night, his body was found, officials said.
A construction worker for the Trans Arunachal Highway project in West Siang district was buried alive in a landslide close to Darla village. According to authorities, the dead was Tilu Kalandi, a native of Laluk in the Lakhimpur district of Assam.
The Huto Village of Papum Pare area continued to be the scene of the hunt for two missing people. According to Nima Tashi, the district disaster management officer, both NDRF and SDRF personnel are working on the operation.

Landslides have closed the Chimpu-Hollongi Road in Papum Pare, the Pangin-Boleng Road in Siang, the Boleng-Rumgong Road in West Siang, and the Balemu-Bomdila Road in West Kameng, the officials said.
