Lucknow: The SIT probing the 1984 Sikh riots has conducted raids in Armapur state and arrested two more accused. With this, the number of accused to be arrested has reached 33. In the 1984 Sikh riots, the Armapur State Ordnance Factory was also attacked. During this time, the rioters had killed Wazir Singh and Satnam Singh alias Simmi of the Sikh community.

A complaint in this regard was lodged by the security supervisor of the factory, Devi Dutt Upadhyay, at Armapur police station. In this case, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) arrested Brajesh Dubey, a resident of Awas Vikas Panki 3 and Rajendra Kumar Jaiswal alias Guddu, a resident of B Block Panki. The SIT produced both the accused before the court from where they have been sent to jail.  

Earlier, the SIT, which is probing the mass killings during the 1984 anti-Sikh Kanpur riots, had arrested five more people in connection with the triple murder in the Kidwai Nagar area of the city. The five arrested have been identified as Anil Kumar, Ram alias Baggad, Mustaqim, Abdul Waheed and Irshad. All the arrested accused are over 60 years of age.
