Two More Naxalites Killed in Encounter with Security Forces in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur

Two Naxalites were killed during a clash with security forces in the Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh on Wednesday, according to the police. The confrontation happened in a forest area within the Madded police station jurisdiction while security personnel were conducting an anti-Naxal operation, a senior police officer reported.

After the shooting stopped, the bodies of the two Naxalites and their weapons were found at the site. The operation is still in progress, and more details are expected, the officer added.

So far this year, security forces have killed 118 Naxalites in various encounters across the state.

On May 23, seven Naxalites were killed in a clash with security forces in a forest near the Narayanpur-Bijapur border. Earlier, on May 10, twelve Naxalites were killed in Bijapur district during another encounter with security personnel.

Moreover, ten Naxalites, including three women, were killed on April 30 in a forest near the Narayanpur and Kanker district border. Prior to that, on April 16, twenty-nine Naxalites were shot down in Kanker district during a confrontation with security forces, according to police reports.
