Six policemen have turned positive in Coimbatore due to coronavirus, after which two police stations in the city have been closed. The police stations which have been temporarily closed are located in the areas of Podanur and Kunimuthur. Police personnel who tested positive are undergoing treatment at ESI Hospital in the city.

Later the employees of both the police stations were temporarily shifted to the private marriage hall. Meanwhile, Commissioner of Police Sumit Saran said that the remaining 105 police personnel in the Coronavirus testing police stations had negative results.

On the other hand, the number of people who died of coronavirus in the world has exceeded 2 lakhs. A quarter of these people have died in America only. Not only this, more than one-third of the infections are from America itself. In the US, 2,494 people have died in the last 24 hours. According to Johns Hopkins University, there have been 2,02,368 deaths due to corona worldwide.
